What is Intrauterine Insemination?
IUI is the procedure developed and introduced for the first time by our President, Prof. Zavos in 1978 that aimed to treat infertility and enhance the chances of pregnancy by placing specially prepared sperm directly into the uterus at the time of ovulation. The hoped-for outcome is to bypass the cervix and allow the sperm and egg to unite in the upper portion of the fallopian tubes and lead into pregnancy. IUI vs. IVF
The goal of IUI in the male is to increase the amount of "good" sperm that are able to reach the fallopian tubes and simultaneously aid the female factor by proper ovulation induction and prediction. In general, IUI can help patients with cases of:

Our IUI Products
1. The Swim-Up Pak is a patented simple, self-contained system for the recovery of high quality progressively motile sperm from semen. Unlike other conventional sperm preparation methods for IUI, the SUP technology is a fast, inexpensive and simple one-step standardized method.
2. The Zavos-IUI catheter allows the proper placement of the sperm into the uterus via the cervix so that an increased number of high quality sperm can reach the uterine cavity and the fallopian tubes for proper fertilization.
3. The SpermPrep® Media which is a uniquely formulated diluent that provides excellent results during semen preparation and the IUI.
Usage & Applications:
1. Place 2.0 mL of liquified semen inside the cone on the bottom of the ZSC™ -II column until completely filled (use disposable plastic pipette; 37°C)
2. Aspirate 0.7 mL of media (SpermPrep™) and place it in the area around and over the cone to cover the semen completely
3. Place the ZSC™-II in the Lab Top™ incubator at 37°C and incubate for 45-60 minutes
4. Remove ZSC™from incubator and aspirate all the media containing the healthy sperm, (approx. 0.7 mL) using the provided syringe with needle
5. Remove the aspirating needle from the syringe, attach the IUI catheter of your choice and perform the IUI procedure.
